The Center

About Us

The Murphy Center at the University of North Texas (UNT) supports innovation and new venture creation both for students and the broader UNT research community.

For students, the Center provides mentoring for startups, access to entrepreneurial leaders and internship opportunities, and engages them in entrepreneurship through competitions - all with the aim of immersing students in the venture community.

On the commercialization side, the Center supports UNT's Vice President of Research in bringing university-affiliated research to market. This includes advising on potential market opportunities and technology applications, assisting spinout companies, and facilitating connections to advisors, commercial partners, funding sources, and entrepreneurial talent.

Fast Pitch Competition

UNT Fast Pitch Competition is a pitch competition for UNT graduate and undergraduate students. The Murphy Center invites all students to submit a short YouTube video pitching an idea for their senior projects with the opportunity to win cash prizes.
